Diagnosis

  • From there, you will be given lab tests that are geared towards looking for anxiety disorders.
  • If your doctor does not find anything wrong, then most of the time, you will be sent to a psychologist for further tests and evaluations.
  • After all, if you have an anxiety disorder, then you will want to find it right away for treatment.
Home remedies for Anxiety
  • Coffee and Tea – Anxiety and caffeine, found in coffee and tea, do not usually mix well. Caffeine works as a nervous system stimulant that may cause nervousness and sensations of impending doom but a moderate amount of coffee taken may stir up the senses. Just limit your intake of caffeinated beverages.
  • Water therapy – Also known as hydrotherapy, this technique pushes the increase in water intake to relieve the discomforts of anxiety. Experts say that a well-hydrated body help boosts the functioning of hormones preventing disorders like anxiety, restlessness, and depression.
  • Vitamin B1 to B12, Magnesium and Calcium – Deficiencies in vitamin b complexes, magnesium and calcium can increase risk of vulnerability to anxiety attacks. B-complex vitamins help keep the nervous system healthy and in proper working condition. Magnesium helps the body feel less tensed and stressed. Calcium is important for transmitting impulses throughout the nervous system. For these reasons, it is important that a diet rich in these essential vitamins and minerals should be taken.
  • Meditation and Deep Breathing - Learn basic deep breathing techniques from some yoga expert or try it yourself by inhaling for longer than normal, hold the breath for a couple of second and then exhale it. Meditation can also be tried to sooth nerves.
  • Avoiding Junk Foods and Drinks - Refined Sugar and Carbohydrates, artificial sweeteners, caffeine, smoking and such other things should also be avoided to get rid of anxiety.
  • Bathe – Sinking into a warm tub of water can greatly help ease anxiety. It helps relieve tense muscles, promoting a relaxing feeling.
